A London Boat Rentals Duffy is the simple way onto the water in Long Beach. No experience needed, no captain to pay, and no per-person ticket: one price covers the boat for up to 12 guests. The boats move at 5 mph at most, the cabin is fully enclosed, and the Naples Canals are a short cruise from our dock.

Every one of our 22 boats is the same 21-foot electric Duffy, so a group of forty gets four identical boats and nobody draws the short straw. The complete guide to renting a Duffy in Long Beach covers every detail.

Where to, captain?

Naples is three islands inside Alamitos Bay, ringed by canals and lined with homes and private docks. When the tide allows, you can cruise the Naples Canal and the Rivo Alto Canal between them. Low bridges cross the canals, so the tide decides whether a boat fits underneath.

When the tide is too high, the bay is still yours: you can cruise around Naples Island, into Jellyfish Cove, Spinnaker Bay, Marina Pacifica and Mother’s Beach. Keep an eye out for the local sea lions, who make appearances throughout the day.

Bring the cooler. Bring the dog.

Food, a cooler, your own beer and wine, and your dog. Local vendors deliver food and décor if you would rather not carry it. In winter, bring a blanket: the boats are enclosed, and the windows stay down to hold the warmth in.

The driver and the person booking must be 21 or older, and each boat carries 12 people at most, babies included. The rules and packing list has the rest.

How much does a Duffy boat rental cost in Long Beach?

$125 for one hour or $250 for two hours, per boat. The price covers the whole boat, so up to 12 guests ride for the same amount. Split twelve ways, two hours comes to about $20.83 each. The pricing page has a planner for bigger groups.

Do I need boating experience to drive a Duffy?

No. The boats top out at 5 mph, and driving one is very similar to driving a golf cart. Our Dock Master takes your boat to the end of the dock, hands you the keys, and gives you a quick tutorial and a map of the sights.

Can we cruise the Naples Canals?

Yes, when the tide allows. When the tide is too high to go into the canals, you can still cruise around Naples Island, into Jellyfish Cove, Spinnaker Bay, Marina Pacifica and Mother’s Beach. The tides page shows the next seven days of high and low water.

Is parking free?

Yes. Parking is free, on site, a few steps from the boats.
